Visits in the 1930s

Hotel St. Gottard is on Bahnhofstrasse 87, close to the Station. While consulting his ophthalmologist, Dr. Vogt, in the thirties, Joyce stayed in two expensive hotels on the Bahnhofstrasse: the St. Gotthard and the Hotel Carlton Elite.
